  Isn't the Westin casino smoke-free? While I appreciate this blog's author's preference for no smoking, the market seems to dictate that smokers gamble more.

  It is smoke-free for the most part. I think that whole "smokers gamble more" is an urban myth.

  They never have had a desire to promote their casino. Just like an ugly stepchild. All the casinos around them are thriving, they just don't really want a casino.

  Disagree with you girlfriend/aunt analogy. More like a pretty girlfriend who looks good on your arm but doesn't put out vs. a middle aged cougar who ain't too bad on the eyes but is (potentially) a sex machine! And when you consider that Westin's target market is business travelers it makes sense to put in a place for the hookers to hang out. ;) My bet... this new restaurant has a nice lounge with a few bar tops run by a local slot route operator.

  The Maxim was a dump but it was fun.The Westin is nicer but boring. Went once..no reason to return.Tough location for anything to work.
